βš™οΈ Old steel, gone for good

Galvanized pipes? Replace them.

Galvanized steel pipe corrodes from the inside out. Over the years it chokes your water pressure and tints your water brown. The only real fix is to replace it with clean PEX or copper.

Why galvanized has to go

Galvanized steel was standard for decades because there was no other option. It was never healthy, never clean, it was the only technology available at the time. It rusts internally until the inside of the pipe narrows to a straw and flakes rust into your water. You cannot clean it out and you cannot patch your way to good pressure. We replace the whole system so you get strong flow and clean water back.

Signs your galvanized is failing

Brown or rusty water

Especially first thing in the morning or after travel.

Weak water pressure

Corrosion narrows the pipe and strangles your flow.

Uneven pressure

Some fixtures trickle while others are fine.

Visible corrosion

Rusty, crusty pipe where you can see it in the garage or under sinks.

Older home

Homes built mid-century often still have original galvanized.

Recurring leaks

Once one section goes, the rest is usually close behind.

Galvanized questions

Can you just replace the bad section?

You can, but with galvanized the rest of the system is usually corroding too. A full repipe is almost always the better value than chasing leaks.

What do you replace it with?

PEX or copper, your choice. We will give you an honest recommendation and a fixed price for each.

Will my pressure come back?

Yes. New full-diameter pipe restores the strong, even flow corrosion took away.
