Know your enemy
The pipes that fail, and why
If your home was built or re-plumbed in the wrong decade, one of these is probably in your walls. Knowing which one tells us how urgent it is.
Galvanized steel
Rusts from the inside out, slowly choking your pressure and tinting your water brown. Common in older homes.
Polybutylene (Quest)
Class action, for a reason. It grows brittle and fails without warning, often behind a finished wall. 1.13 billion (settlement) Problem: Oxidation.
CPVC
Cracks and snaps as it ages. In Joe’s opinion, it is the next polybutylene. We do not recommend it for repipes.
Failed PEX-A
The Uponor A pipes are leaking across Southern California right now. We replace them with Zurn B systems.
Copper pinholes
Tiny corrosion leaks that arrive in clusters. Patch one and three more follow. Usually a sign the whole run is near the end of it’s lifespan.
Old, tired copper
Even good copper has a lifespan. Decades of hard water and pressure etch the walls until pinholes and slab leaks start.
PEX or copper?
Both are excellent. We will tell you which fits your home.
PEX (our flagship)
- Flexible and fast, with fewer joints to fail
- Resists scale and corrosion, quieter water flow
- 25-year manufacturer material warranty
- Usually the better value on a whole-home repipe
Type L copper
- The traditional choice many homeowners trust
- Rigid, time-tested, fully recyclable
- Great where you specifically want copper
- Installed by Joe since 1990
Quality parts, installed right
USA-made! The same standards whether you choose PEX or copper.

Quick answers
Questions homeowners ask us first
How much does a whole-home repipe cost?
It depends on the size of your home, the number of fixtures, and whether you choose PEX or copper. That is exactly why the in-home estimate is free: we look, we measure, and we give you one fixed price before any work starts. No guessing, no surprises.
How long does it take and will I have water?
Most homes are repiped in a single day, with your water back on that same evening. Full finish, including wall patching, is usually three to four days. You stay in your home the whole time.
Will my walls be destroyed?
No. We open only the small access points we need, protect your home before we start, and our own crew patches everything afterward. We leave the site clean, not torn apart.
PEX or copper, which should I choose?
Both are excellent when installed right. PEX is flexible, fast, and usually the better value; copper is the traditional rigid choice. On the free estimate we will tell you honestly which fits your home and budget.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes. Every repipe carries our lifetime workmanship guarantee, and it transfers to the next owner if you sell. PEX materials also carry a 25-year manufacturer warranty.
